Birch firewood
Birch wood is used to fuel stoves at home, in bathhouses, saunas, as well as fireplaces and grills.
The heat output and wood consumption directly depend on the quality of the firewood, so great attention should be paid to its selection. Birch firewood is always highly valued due to its high quality. Birch firewood is easy to split, burns for a long time and gives a lot of heat, and is also relatively cheap. The energy value of birch firewood per 1 kg of fuel is 3750 kcal, which is only slightly less than that of oak firewood.
Birch wood has fine-grained, medium-hard, flexible, uniformly white wood with a light yellowish or reddish tint. When drying, birch does not crack, but, compared to other trees, it significantly shrinks in volume. Wet birch wood quickly begins to rot. Birch wood is perfectly suitable for fireplaces, heating houses and saunas, as it ignites well, gives off strong heat, does not spark and burns with an even flame. Shish kebab and barbecue lovers appreciate birch wood because it is able to form high-quality hot coals. The only drawback of wood is considered to be the formation of soot, because when burned, it releases a resinous substance - tar, which pollutes the chimney and reduces draft.
Alder firewood
Alder firewood is more often purchased for heating fireplaces and more.
For the intended purpose (burning for heating). It is also used to clean the chimney from soot and fine carbon, which over time forms in it after burning with birch or coniferous wood, as it produces tar and essential oils, which as a result clogs the chimney. Alder will be an ideal option for the firebox of fireplaces that are not intended to maintain a high temperature.
The low level of heat output when burning alder wood allows it to be used even in fireplaces installed for decorative purposes, which are not intended for heating. The use of this type of wood will help create a cozy atmosphere, will provide an opportunity to warm up by the fireplace and inhale the pleasant aroma that arises from the combustion of alder. By the way, it is precisely because of these properties that alder wood was used in ancient times for heating royal houses. Therefore, in the “popular language” its second name is “royal wood”.
Aspen firewood
Aspen firewood has always been highly valued and will be appreciated as a simple and effective means of independently cleaning soot and soot in the chimney.
Aspen wood is not very suitable for fuel and charcoal production, as it burns completely and has a low heat capacity. Although aspen wood has one pleasant feature: it burns almost smokeless, which allows it to be used together with birch wood for burning in a fireplace.
The company "Malkas Piegāde" produces the highest quality aspen firewood. The production process is fully controlled by specialists so that the final product meets all technical requirements to the maximum. Sawing and splitting of logs is carried out only after checking the quality of the wood.
